Impulsonics, a start-up dedicated to developing a unique acoustic platform to streamline cell culture automation and unlock unique new capabilities, has expanded to three full time staff to accelerate their mission. The expanded office and lab space will allow it to accelerate its mission.

“This is a big moment for Impulsonics and it will really allow us to move faster than ever,” said Luke Cox, CEO of Impulsonics. “We couldn’t have a better team to take us on the next stage of the journey!”

The two new team members are Engineering Lead Amanda Franklin & Biological Scientist Ximena Vasto.

Dr Amanda Franklin completed her PhD in the Ultrasonics & NDT Group before departing to work for instrument supplier Lumicks. There she helped develop the z-Movi from benchtop concept through to product. She now joins Impulsonics as Engineering Lead & Co-Founder.

“I’m really excited by the challenges ahead and the problems we’re going to solve for the biotech community,” said Dr Franklin “I can’t wait to get started.”

Ximena Vasto joins from the University of Bristol where she worked with start-up Cytoseek to develop breast cancer models.

“I’m delighted to be joining the team and thrilled by the possibilities that Impulsonics presents to the biotech community,” Ximena Vasto “I know from experience what a pain the challenges they’re trying to solve are.”

Impulsonics is a University of Bristol spin-out company applying acoustic waves to streamline biotech automation. They are also supported by Setsquared Bristol, The Wilkinson Innovation Award and the Bristol Runway Awards.
